Rob Perkins, Senior Pastor
Pastor Rob came to us from Mesa, Arizona in September of 2007. He is confident that God is at work here in the city of Ventura and is excited about the impact FBC is having on the community. He has been joyfully married to his wife, Judy for over 30 years and they have two grown children, Nathan and Leah.

John Gennaro, Associate Pastor
John Gennaro serves as Associate Pastor and has been part of the First Baptist Church staff since 1994, serving in a variety of capacities. Prior to coming to FBC, he served on the staff of another church in Ventura, primarily as the music director. John was a teacher in Ventura for 33 years and retired in 1998. He has a B.A. from Northwest Nazarene University and an M.A. from California Lutheran University. He and his wife Carol have four children and nine grandchildren.

Victoria Balint, Director of Discovery

Vicky is a native Californian who moved to Ventura at the age of two when her father accepted a senior pastor position at a small church in Montalvo. She is a 1992 graduate of Westmont College, has been happily married since 1994, and gave birth to a delightful daughter in 2002.

She has been a member of First Baptist Church since 1998, and since that time has been joyfully involved in the worship and arts ministry. Vicky joined the staff of First Baptist in September of 2003. She feels extremely blessed to be in full time ministry in a position she adores.

Dana Potts, Choir Director
Dana joined our staff, with her husband Jeff, our Worship Pastor, in 2000. Dana has been involved in church music for 23 years while on staff at various churches throughout Missouri. She was a member of the adjunct Faculty at Southwest Baptist University for 8 years where she taught a class that was also a touring contemporary Christian music group.

Dana has received a B.M. degree in church music from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri and is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda.

Dana loves her family, loves people and loves to read. She has four wonderful children: James, Carol, Lauren, and Jena. Not only is the Potts family musically and vocally talented, they have developed a heart for missions work in China where they have led several FBC missions teams.

Jeff Potts, Worship Pastor
Jeff Potts joined the staff at First Baptist Ventura in 2000. Jeff’s passion is for leading the church in authentic worship experiences. His background is in music ministry and education. Before moving to California, Jeff helped pioneer contemporary worship services in three mid-western churches.

He also worked with college students at Southwest Baptist University where he taught Basic Class Guitar and was the bandleader for the university’s contemporary music ensemble.

Julie Needham, Day School Administrator
Julie has been a part of First Baptist Day school for over 21 years. She is a Ventura native and has been a member of our church for over 16 years. She taught preschool for ten years before becoming the school's
administrator in 1992.

Julie lives in Ventura with her husband Rich. They have five grown children, Jodi, Sarah, Dan, Erik, Scott, and six grandchildren.

Doug Stephens, Maintenance
Doug has lived in the Oak View area most of his life. He grew up helping his parents in their used furniture store. Doug has a talent for repairing things and a servant's heart. After 20 years in construction he joined the church staff in 1995.

Doug can be found around the campus with tools in hand or on a roof retrieving balls for the FBC day school.

Doug and his wife Angela, live in Oak View. They have 3 children and 3 grandchildren.

Becky Shipe, Administrative Assistant
Becky Shipe was raised in Northeast Missouri. She graduated from Southwest Baptist University in 2001 with a degree in vocal music education, and moved to Ventura shortly after to accept a job with a local music ministry. In May of 2007 she began working in the office at First Baptist Church.

Becky and her husband Coty are enjoying their second year of marriage.

Coty Shipe has served on the FBC staff since the fall of 2006. "Once I learned I was not destined for the stage, I was encouraged to know that there still may be room for me at front of house (FOH) playing my favorite instrument, the sound board." His background comes from touring with and managing the Technical Department of the Continental Singers
